Off to rest

10:38 pm Previous Hurricanes Archive

One last post before I head to my bed. Things are still really calm here, no rain or wind to speak of. We all just said “Good night, see you in a couple of hours” as we suspect that the bad weather will get us out of bed when it hits. I doubt we’ll have power then, so we’ll rely on our fearless US poster Dangers to keep you updated.

Some of you have asked about Cozumel, I haven’t heard anything to speak of, sorry. I think a lot of people got off the island in the last few days and they will have battened down the hatches. If anyone has info, post a comment and let us know. G’night for now, hopefully I’ll be checking in soon.

    Dangers may be getting some rest as well. According to Weatherdood, there is another small band heading your way, just off Cozumel, so will be there in 10-20 minutes. will bring some more heavy rain & wind gusts. Dood will be hanging in til 100AM, maybe til 200. I will be around for a while, & have a “contact” thread to relay info by phone text if need be. :-}

    I hope you’re able to get some rest - stay safe.

    I am currently in the Moon Palace, one of the southern resorts here in Cancun. Going to breakfast this morning, I saw some workers picking coconuts & trimming trees. (one of them even offered me a coconut). I can see why now. The same coconut trees are now getting blown by strong winds. They were trying to remove potential projectiles.

    It appears that the rain had stopped a while back but the winds is starting to kick up again.

    Ben….. another smaller band moving in bringing some heavy rain & gusty winds. Shouldn’t last too long. 100AM report from hurricane center shortly
